Project: PVFARM — We help to design and evaluate future large solar PV solar plants

Seniority level: 2-5 years of experience
For the last 3 years our company is working on in-browser 3d tool for the solar PV power-plants design and planning. We’d like to see a passionate designer in our team who can help us to communicate technically complex decisions, tradeoffs, and opportunities to users and clients in a simple way. Our friendly team will help with all the required technical expertise and details.
First-year targets
Design visually appealing content for our marketing activities and product updates. Mediums we use are webinars with presentations, offline conferences, and LinkedIN. Wrap everything above into the set of reusable patterns and guidelines once we find out what works best.
Design industry-best visual guide “Solar PV power-plant planning with software” and integrate it into the product. Collaborate with a user interface designer (who is eager to share any tasks or help with yours) and other team members.
(optional) Replace Source Sans font with something more convincing.
Please, note: we start with a 1-month contract to let you prove your ability to deliver and communicate with the team.
Traits we are looking for
Proven recent experience in marketing and graphic design.
Any product, user interface, instructional design experience is a huge plus.
Previous commercial experience in instructional and technical drawings is a plus.
Data visualisation and storytelling experience is a plus.
Attention to details. Attach 2 images of your choice to the application.
No passion for 12-pages documents explaining why the button has a rounded corners.
Knowledge of Russian language is desirable.

How the actual task could look like
Provide an illustrated help in any format and layout to explain how different spacings of the solar station layout are named. The most challenging one is “Row height” — defines maximum number of solar arrays in the row to be placed on the side of the equipment road.
Think about scale, average solar arrays has length of about ~50 modules (on this image arrays has 6).
Discuss why these parameters are important (we think ~7 team members have a good understanding of those particular inputs, some questions can be answered by only one of the our specialists). Discuss corner cases. Discuss areas of the product affected by these settings.
Collaborate with the team on text description.
Provide marketing images for the release of the updated guide.
